The following Northwestern / Kellogg interview report was submitted to Clear Admit by a Round 2 applicant. Good luck to them!

As most of you know, Kellogg gives everyone an interview. As such, I was able to schedule the interview right after I clicked the “submit” button on my application for Round 2. I elected to travel to campus for an in-person interview, as I had never visited before (very, very glad I did that – the visit was amazing and meeting current students was incredibly helpful).

A second-year student interviewed me. That being said, I sat with two other people with interviews before or after me who interviewed with someone from the admissions committee. I’m not quite sure if it means anything that I had a student, but I didn’t read too much into it.

The interview was very relaxed and conversational. Here are some of the questions asked:

-What do you like to do in your free time?
-Take me through your résumé – start with school – what lead you to your current career?
-What would be the greatest strength/weakness that you would bring to a group (i.e. learning team)?
-What is your proudest accomplishment thus far in your career?
-Describe a time when you were working in a group and not everyone got along. How did you handle that?
-Think back to college. What was the most influential class?
-What would you be involved in at Kellogg?
-Why is Kellogg write for you?
-If you wanted the admissions committee to know one thing that you didn’t feel like you could convey in your application, what would you want me to tell them?
-Any questions for me?

Asking a current student questions is obviously much easier than an admissions officer, plus you get a lot more out of it. The interview went so well (I hope!) so I’m really excited for next steps. The program is amazing and I would absolutely enroll if I got in.
