Every Wednesday, we share a round-up of the latest news from admissions blogs at the top business schools. Congratulations to all Round 1 applications who have received positive news from their target schools! (Needless to say, we urge you to head on over to MBA LiveWire to share the good news!) Now that you’ve been admitted, you’re surely receiving invitations to attend Admitted Student Weekends where you’ll have plenty of opportunity to mix and mingle with other future MBAs. Your future classmates await! With this in mind, we’re taking a look at schools hosting admit weekends as well as some information on the next phase for Round 2 Harvard Business School applicants.

You got into business school! Hooray! There’s probably a lot going through your mind right now. Don’t worry. Second-year Northwestern / Kellogg student Rohan Rajiv goes step by step on what should be on your mind as you move forward. For many, going to business school means uprooting your life and spending two years in a different city. “What do I need to do to wrap up life here? At work, this meant communicating to my managers and colleagues and then figuring out my plan until my last day at work. I structured it such that I had a month and a half off before school and I was grateful for that time.”

Of course one of the easiest decisions (before deciding on where to enroll) would be to attend an Admitted Students Weekend. In December, London Business School hosted its first Admit Weekend of the admissions season. There was no shortage of activity. “At the end of the day, we celebrated with a dinner cruise on the Thames to view the incredible light displays for the holiday season.  We look forward to continuing to develop the class in our upcoming admissions rounds!”

Attending one of these weekends is a great way to decide on where to enroll before sending in a hefty deposit. The Dartmouth / Tuck admissions blog gives 5 good reasons to attend their Admitted Students Weekend. Is Tuck a good fit? What about Hanover, NH? Will you mesh with the school’s culture?

And lastly, for Round 2 applicants to Harvard Business School, Managing Director of Admissions Dee Leopold laid out their R2 plans – including a list of hub cities for the upcoming round of interviews.

That’s all for this week! Join us next week for the latest edition of MBA Admissions Mashup.
