The following U. Chicago Booth MBA interview report was submitted to Clear Admit by a Round 1 applicant who was admitted. Congratulations to them!

The atmosphere was very casual. They have first year students in the waiting room casually chatting you up so I didn’t really have a chance to sit there and make myself nervous. I thought that was a really nice touch. From there, my interviewer came out and called my name and introduced himself with a big smile which instantly put me at ease.

He asked me to tell him my story, which I took to mean walk him through my résumé. He didn’t really ask too many questions as I did this but he threw in positive tracking comments like “sure” and “Oh I see.” He asked me a few questions about my goals and why I want to go to Booth specifically. Finally the last “interview” questions were behavioral ones on what type of working environment I like and what things at my current firm I do not like.

With about 15 minutes left, we transitioned into more personal things such as my hobbies, travel, and the additional things I list on my résumé. The whole thing was very conversational and there was plenty of back and forth. We were joking with each other and he gave me a few book recommendations based on things I told him I liked. I asked him a few questions and that was it. It was an incredibly positive experience and I never felt like I was put on the spot, but I was still able to show him my personality and qualifications.

Interestingly, he did not respond to my follow up thank you email but I was admitted to Booth so obviously the interview went well enough.
