Fridays from the Frontline: the Waiting Game

waitingWelcome back to Fridays from the Frontline, our weekly summation of happenings in the business school blogosphere.  This week marked the passing of many round-two application deadlines, and the beginning of a long period of anticipation for numerous business-school applicants.

Naija MBA Gal gives us her thoughts on waitlisting and what her strategies are for improving her chances as she awaits a decision, while Grant Me Admission muses on the reasons he was rejected and his strategies for applying again, in an interview that was picked up by Fortune Magazine.  As she waits for the next GMAT testing date Blackgirlmbaoncampus starts another round of studying to improve her score, and reviews her visit to the Paris campus of INSEAD.

As you wait by the computer for your admissions decisions, why not distract yourself by reading Wharton Alum, Ivan Corneillet’s strategies on choosing electives, or imagine yourself in the place of Darden student, Amy Appleby, on her trip to Reston, VA for a retreat focusing on Venture Capitalism. Another Darden student, Lucia Dempsey, reflects on 2014 and decides not to wait, but to take action as she plans for the coming year,  and James Megivern talks about the ways he connected with his fellow Fuqua students on his recent trip to Indonesia. In news from the Kellogg MBA Student Blog, the second-place winners of the Haas Tech Challenge were members of a team from Kellogg, which was great news for one of the judges who is an MMM alum.

Additionally, MIT Sloan students share their experiences and the lessons they have learned in Colombia for their Global Entrepreneurship Lab.

That’s all for this week! Tune in next week for more news from the MBA blogosphere.
