Fridays From the Frontline: Some Kind of MBA Madness

Fridays From the Frontline is Clear Admit’s weekly summation of posts from the business school blogosphere. Author Sherrilyn Kenyon once said, “I don’t suffer from insanity – I enjoy every minute of it.” This week, applicants continue wading through the craziness of the business school admissions process, while current students discuss the opportunities and challenges facing them in business school.

Among current applicants, Pullingthatmbatrigger enumerates the five stages of losing your mind during the MBA admissions process, which include false confidence, doubt, numbness, alternating pessimism and optimism, where she is right now, and finally mental peace. She has also scheduled her Fuqua interview for mid-October. Meanwhile, Roadtomymba plans to ask one of his bosses for a recommendation, and aims to improve his GMAT score in mid-November. Similarly, Sarahmbajourney wonders whether she should retake the GMAT, and also decided to go for a full-time MBA rather than a part-time one. Finally, after submitting her applications, Naijambagal says “thank you” to all of her supporters, and apologizes for being so busy.

Meanwhile, among current students, Ryann Kopacka, a first year at Anderson, discusses the challenges of being a woman in business school and how she overcomes them. Across the Atlantic, Oxionian2013MBA, a second-year at Said Business School, had his first job interview with a company in Cambridge. Lastly, Efessays offers a virtual lesson on international tax policy based on his seminar.

That’s everything for this week. Good luck with your applications, and be sure to tune in next week for more news from the business school blogosphere!
