The Economist Group Launches $25,000 MBA Scholarship Contest

econonmist_gmat tutorThe Economist Group’s business education division, Which MBA?, yesterday launched its second Brightest Minds MBA Scholarship Contest, which will award a $25,000 scholarship to the prospective MBA or EMBA student who scores highest on a simulated GMAT exam.

The first Brightest Minds MBA scholarship ran earlier this year, drawing more than 4,500 entrants, The Economist Group reports. The winner, Rishabh P. from India, is currently applying to several business schools, with plans to begin an MBA program in fall 2015.

“The Brightest Minds Scholarship connects prospective MBA students with leading business schools that can help them achieve their career goals,” Adam Ingberman, head of Which MBA?, said in a statement. “We are thrilled to provide our large audience of MBA seeking students an opportunity to win substantial financial support towards his or her MBA program of choice.”

Prospective MBA or EMBA students anywhere in the world can take part in the contest by completing The Economist GMAT Tutor simulation test, which uses adaptive technology similar to the real GMAT so that the difficulty level adjusts according to the test-taker’s ability.

The student with the highest score will win a $25,000 scholarship toward tuition at any of the business schools sponsoring the contest, which include Yale School of Management, Warwick Business School, UNC Kenan-Flagler Business School, UVA’s Darden School of Business, University of Florida MBA Programs, University of Exeter Business School, University of Edinburgh Business School, Erasmus University’s Rotterdam School of Management, Pace University, Rice University’s Jones Graduate School of Business, International University of Monaco, HEC Paris, Florida International University College of Business and Aston Business School.

The contest, which officially opened yesterday, will run through October 31, 2014, at 11:59 p.m. ET. A winner will be announced on November 17th. Five randomly selected runners-up will receive a free iPad mini.
