News, advice and resources for business school applicants

Fridays From the Frontline

Hello and welcome back to Fridays From the Frontline, Clear Admit’s weekly tour of fresh news in the b-school blogosphere. This week we hear from bloggers who are either working their way through their spring MBA studies or, excitingly, embarking on something new.

Among this latter group is Sarfraz, who has been impressed by his opening few weeks at London Business School.  He began classes this spring as one of 52 Sloan Fellows for the Class of 2013. Former MBA hopeful MBAover30 gives an exhaustive analysis of why he’s chosen to attend the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania this fall. Congratulations to him! Seriously, for any readers confronting a decision among various programs, this is a great post to read if you want an example of a thoughtful, rigorous approach to making this decision.

Similarly, Sassafras reflects on the career impact of his decision to pursue his MBA at the Yale SOM. University of Texas McCombs’ student Shelby discusses the adventurous side of business school as she balances a student-organized ski trip and half-marathon with midterm exams.  Tepper’s Julianne reports that the hard work of business school doesn’t end after the first year.

Her Tepper classmate, Ccatcher seems to agree: she’s been making progress on the job search grind. And Kenan-Flagler second year Santhia talks about the Heels 4 Homes 5K coming up on April 6th. The run is part of the school’s longstanding involvement with Habitat for Humanity, and Santhia implores her classmates to join the group as it runs past school landmarks like the Old Well and the Coker Arboretum.

That’s it for this edition of Fridays From the Frontline. Keep reading for more news, advice and commiseration from the b-school trenches. Have a great weekend!
