News, advice and resources for business school applicants

Fridays From The Frontline

Well hello there and welcome to Fridays From The Frontline. As we bid an official adieu to summer and usher in cooler temperatures and fall foliage (at least in the northern hemisphere) applicants and new students are ramping up their blog posts. Second year students were quiet this week, but we’re sure we’ll hear more from them as their semesters/quarters progress.

MBAOver30presented his thoughts about just how much age matters in the MBA process, which included quoting a section of a Clear Admit article. Sassafrass turned his attentions to just what goes into the ‘fit’ between an applicant and an MBA program. Sanket shared some of this thoughts about Wharton’s new team-based interview format. Amit visited a Yale information session held in Bangalore.

INSEAD ‘13J Shereen expressed the necessity to arrive at the school and ‘hit the ground sprinting.’ Chicago Booth ’14 Cheetarah was one of just six African American women in her Chicago Booth class and wrote about the reasons that might have had a hand in this low number. LBS ’14 Karen and some of her classmates went on a treasure hunt around the city, wearing thematically linked super hero clothing. McCombs ’14 Shelby discussed being a non-traditional student and the diversity of her cohort.  McDonough ’14 Jenna multi-tasked by listening to a finance lecture while folding laundry.

And that’s a wrap for this week. For those gearing up for the last few round one deadlines, we wish you the best … and for those in a holding pattern until interview invitations go out, we wish you fortitude and restful sleep! Until next week, have a great weekend.
