Fridays From the Frontline

Hello, and welcome to Fridays From the Frontline, Clear Admit’s weekly blog post that seeks out the freshest news from the b-school blogosphere. This week many applicants were attending information sessions while students returned to campus and got back into the routine of classes.

MBA Over 30attended an MIT Sloan information session and cancelled his plans to retake the GMAT. Sassafrass continued her comparison of b-schools to fashion. Unclearadmit updated his readers on his essay progress as well as the Darden and Kellogg info sessions in which he took part. Amit outlined the considerations he has as an international b-school applicant.

Kellogg ’14 Ccatcher completed her first week of classes and said that one of her favorite things about school thus far was the people. Wharton ’14 Motown enjoyed her first two weeks in Philadelphia, which included celebrating her birthday with new classmates and eating cheesesteaks with her mother.    Owen ’14 Ms. HR found the effects of b-school courses were beginning to influence her life outside of class. Chicago Booth ’14 Cheetarah prepared herself a tasty omelet in preparation for her first day of classes and shared her feelings about how the b-school environment has similarities to high school.

Darden ’13 Legal MBAyem found an opportunity to apply the lessons she’s learning in law school to a entrepreneurial situation at Darden. Tepper ’13 Julianne added a course taught by an astronaut to her fall semester and recounted a typical conversation about internships between two returning students. McCombs ’13 Courtney thoroughly enjoyed the first tailgate of the college football season and welcomed an old friend to the school. Darden ’13 The Constant Dardener returned to Charlottesville in time to meet up with fellow second years at the annual community picnic. INSEAD ’13 Jonathan finally arrived to start his INSEAD experience, and began to wonder if there was an unspoken marketing plan in action among alumni.  Anderson ’13 Ann provided a few helpful suggestions to applicant who may be in need of freshening up their quantitative skills.
