Fridays From the Frontline
Hello and welcome to Fridays From the Frontline, Clear Admit’s weekly blog post focused on catching you up with the b-school blogosphere. This week applicants continued to reflect on their application process and report on how interviews were going while current students covered a diverse number of topics.
Army JMO created an interesting graphic tracking the career trajectories of those in the military and those who “separate” from the military to pursue an MBA. All members of the Fortune 800 blog chimed in with what they felt were the most difficult – and most enjoyable – essays to write. Rolipolli posted a humorous rap video about boom and bust. Pyaropopat returned home after a Malaysian vacation to find another acceptance notice, this time from Ross. The Applicationist pondered the meaning of a shorter than expected, and rather formal, Columbia interview.
Tepper ’13 Julianne reflected on another essay prompt for Tepper and provided observations and guidance to those still facing a blank page. Kellogg ’13 Night Owl recounted the strength of her grandmother and mother in recognition of Martin Luther King Jr. Day. Harvard ’13 Parker enjoyed drinking beer on tiny stools on street corners in Hanoi, and went night squid hunting. Johnson ’13 Ellipser linked to a Facebook page that dedicated itself to quoting things that MBAs say. Johnson ’13 Andrew shared a photograph of Ithaca.
Darden ’12 Darden Poet came across her eighth grade self’s career goals and enjoyed participating in a sketch comedy show with classmates. Kellogg ’12 Jeremy extolled the virtues of factoring in ‘transition time.’ Darden ’12 Jonathan announced his post-grad plans to move to South Korea. GW ’12 Part-timer explained why his final semester might be the most intense.
