Chicago Booth School of Business Remains Tops on Bloomberg Businessweek MBA Rankings
Bloomberg Businessweek released its 2010 MBA rankings this week, and Chicago Booth’s School of Business topped the list for full-time programs again, just as it did in both the 2006 and 2008 rankings. Harvard Business School took this year’s number two spot, and the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School came in at third. Northwestern’s Kellogg School of Management was ranked fourth, a weaker than usual showing for the school that has five times snagged the number one spot. Stanford Graduate School of Business rounded out the top five.
On a separate international ranking, INSEAD moved into the number one spot, followed by Canada’s Queens University, Spain’s IE Business School, ESADE (also in Spain) and London Business School. Two international full-time MBA programs made it into the top 10 rankings this year for the first time: York University’s Schulich School of Business (No. 9) and the University of Cambridge’s Judge Business School (No.10).
Bloomberg BW bases its ranking of business schools on a combination of ratings by recent MBA graduates, a survey of corporate recruiters and the research output of each school’s faculty. Notably, the number of ranked schools more than doubled this year, with Bloomberg BW assigning a ranking to the top 75 schools. (In the past, schools that fell below number 30 in the United States or number 10 in the international rankings were placed in an unranked “second tier.”)
