Fridays From The Frontline

Hi, and welcome to Fridays From The Frontline, Clear Admit’s weekly investigation of the lifestyles of MBA applicant and student bloggers. This week many were busy watching baseball or recuperating from their Halloween weekends, but it wasn’t all play. Some applicants had finishing touches for their applications, while others were getting good news. Students found themselves taking exams and looking toward the future, but were, on the whole, in good spirits.

A Beautiful Mind arrived in Hyderabad and wrote out an approximate dialogue of his ISB interview. Steve dressed up as his fiancee for Halloween, was happy with the results of the World Series and started to wonder about Yale. XClick completed his NYU application, and was quite pleased with the last game of the World Series. BizWiz found that his apartment renovation was taking a little longer than originally planned, but saw an end in sight. Illuminati found his Manhattan GMAT practice exam experience gave him a number of ways to improve. Procrastinator shared a very amusing chart on the exact steps one can take to get the most out of their procrastination, and turned in his Darden application. Congratulations go out to Rocky, who was happy to share his acceptance into Rotman’s class of 2012.

Foster ’11 Helen dressed up as Pippi Longstocking for Halloween and had a lot of mid-terms. Kellogg ’11 Inspired could hardly believe it had been a year since he first visted campus and learned about the school’s MMM program, which he then discussed in more detail. Kellogg ’11 Orlando happily dressed in drag for a musical competition, and helped his team come in second.

INSEAD ’09 MBAMRS allowed a guest blogger to give a little perspective on the school’s Singapore campus, and found herself withdrawing from the Fontainbleau social scene with only 4 weeks left before graduation. McCombs ’10 Paragon2Pieces was trying to figure out what her next big hairy audacious goal was going to be. Darden ’10 Mechanigal took a nice and easy weekend, with a day trip to D.C. and plenty of fall foliage. Harvard ’10 Gabrielle couldn’t believe that there was less than a month of class time left in the fall semester. Darden ’10 July Dream outlined a lot of the rest of her b-school time, and it seemed especially jam-packed with travel. McCombs ’10 Metal celebrated Halloween while grading papers. INSEAD ’10 Out Of My Jeans reflected on a failed business plan and how, once he had his MBA, he would avoid some of the pitfalls from this earlier experience. Fuqua EMBAs  ’09  Randy and Stefan did a little skiing in Dubai.

And that concludes this week’s Fridays From The Frontlines. While those of us at Clear Admit are a bit disappointed with the World Series finale, we’re optimistic for applicants and their upcoming interview season, not to mention the Round 2 deadlines, which seem far off, but will be here before you can say ‘my short-term and long-term career goals are’! Until next week, have a great weekend!
