As always, we have delved deep into the MBA blogosphere to find out how the application process is heating up, and how the first semesters/quarters/terms are shaping up for first and returning students. Though some deadlines have passed, a number of schools will be expecting application submissions throughout the next week or so, and this has certainly impacted many bloggers’ posting frequency and content.
Steve saw the Yankees win and put his Cornell essays on hold while finishing up his Tuck application. Though XLick was disappointed to receive a zap from Columbia, he went forward with his NYU plans, including wearing flip flops during his visit campus. Braveheart continued to focus in on elements of the GMAT exam, this time looking at critical reasoning. After speaking with a Wharton admissions rep, ArdentMeerkat decided it was worth the time and energy to take the GMAT one last time. Rocky was excited about Darden after speaking to a student on the phone and making engineering jokes. BeautifulMind wrote about Fuqua’s MBA application fee reduction offer, though he was disappointed it didn’t seem to apply to him.
McCombs ’10 Paragon2Pieces wanted to go to India for her global trip, but worried that demand was going to be too high. Marshall ’10 Andrew, like many other second years over the last few months, felt a need to dispell the myth that the second year of b-school is a breeze. Darden ’10 Mechanigal went to a U2 concert. McCombs ’10 Metal was quite pleased when someone was able to spell his name right on the first try.Darden’ 10 JulyDream considered what has to give when you want everything. Kellogg ’11 D.G. entered the MIT Sales Competition. Chicago Booth ’11 GlobThink shared a hilarious, if somewhat confusing, video featuring a number of prominent Chicago Booth admnistrators and faculty. Kellogg ’11 Shobhit talked about his experience listening to the thoughts of Professor Ulrich. Kellogg ’11 Orlando answered a reader’s question about what he thought was the most valuable class. Goizueta ’11 MissionMBA talked about his favorite class of the semester and what he was learning. Stanford ’11 PaloAltoForAwhile wished applicants lots of luck in their upcoming application submissions, and outlined some topics she’d like to cover in the future.
