Fridays From The Frontline

Hello and welcome to another installment of Clear Admit’s weekly blog round up, Fridays From The Frontline. Labor Day in the U.S. marked the end of summer for many, and the weather on the east coast certainly is reflecting this change. Most all students are happily ensconced in the first few weeks of school, and have provided a number of posts discussing the relative merits of their courses. With only three weeks before some big Round 1 deadlines, the applicant pool seemed focused on getting their essays and recommendations together.

Steve had a mixed Labor Day weekend, which included the beach, tendonitis, his mother’s home cooking and an upset stomach. Braveheart attended a Kellogg information session and outlined some of the helpful data he gathered. AJ read another book about women in business and shared her notes. ArdentMeerkat was reminded why her recommenders were so great, not to mention her boyfriend. Hari was off to Los Vegas and praised Clear Admit’s INSEAD School Guide. RockyBalboa considered what his application prep was all about, and talked about his work projects.

Carey ’11 Maverick was back from a long blog hiatus and expressed an appreciation for crosswalks. Kellogg ’11 Mike shared the highlights of his mystery KWEST trip and was wiped out by the first week of classes. Chicago Booth ’11 GlobThink reflected on the complicated relationship between Taiwanese and Chinese citizens. Kellogg ’11 Orlando posted a giggle-worthy photograph from the school’s CIM week. Harvard ’11 MilitaryToBusiness reviewed the schools Analytics 2009 program, designed for those with less of a traditional b-school background. Wake Forest ’11 Omne talked football and course selection.

McCombs ’10 Paragon2Pieces espoused the virtues of a television-free existence, and explained her fall course choices. Darden ’10 JulyDream wasn’t as sure about her television-less life. Marshall ’10 Andrew recapped his summer internship in Milwaukee and gave a quick overview of how he was feeling about his second year. Darden ’10 Mechanigal echoed JulyDream’s feelings from last week: the second year being easy is a myth! Harvard ’10 HarvardBound felt that she had found the best course of her life and talked about her other fall classes. Harvard ’10 Rob reflected on his first week back in Boston and considered future blog post topics. McCombs ’10 Metal gave a rundown of his first impressions of his classes.

And that concludes this week’s Fridays From The Frontline. We hope the continuing efforts of MBA aspirants goes as best as it can, and that not too many sleepless nights are had by all involved in the process. To the new and returning students, Clear Admit wishes them all the best as they have their first cold call, exam or social networking event. Until next week!
