Best of Blogging 2008-2009 Results!

Clear Admit Best of Blogging 2008-2009 After weeks of preparation and blogosphere buzz, Clear Admit is very pleased to end the suspense by releasing the results of our fifth annual Best of Blogging Awards! For those not in the know, the goal of this friendly competition is to identify and celebrate bloggers who have made significant contributions to the online MBA community over the last year. The insights and experiences of each cycle, or class, of applicant or student bloggers becomes a treasure trove of information and advice for those who follow in their footsteps.

We arrived at the rankings for each category after thoroughly evaluating the eligible blogs and combining votes cast by the Clear Admit staff, nominated bloggers and celebrity judges Dawna Clarke, Director of Admissions at the Tuck School of Business, Eric Bahn of Beat The GMAT, and Brad Garrison (a.k.a. Hella). Below are the final listings of the top ten applicant and top ten student blogs overall, as well as the winners in a handful of more specific categories.

In the interest of time and ease of reading, please hold your applause until all the winners are announced …

Best Single Post by a Student
MaybeMBA had a number of posts recognized, but Farewell was particularly popular

Our congratulations go out to everyone whose blog has been recognized! We’ll be getting in touch with the top-ranked bloggers this week to iron out prize selection and distribution. Top-ranked bloggers MaybeMBA and TienyChesney will have their pick of a 16GB iPod Touch or a $300 Amazon.com gift certificate.  First and second runners up, D.G., Ahembeea, JulyDream and Paragon2Pieces can opt for a six month subscription to either the Wall Street Journal or the Financial Times. It was a close competition and we’d like express our sincere appreciation for the time and effort they’ve put into creating engaging and insightful accounts of their MBA-related experiences.

Finally, we’d like to thank this year’s stellar panel of celebrity judges who took the time to familiarize themselves with the diverse and talented pool of bloggers in the competition. Also a big hand must go to the entire MBA blogging community, nominated or not, without whom the BoB awards would not be possible. It is a pleasure and a privilege to follow the aspirations and milestones of  b-school applicants and students.  We’re looking forward to another great year of content detailing the application process and MBA experience – happy reading and writing!
