Welcome to another issue of Fridays From the Frontline, Clear Admit’s weekly destination tour through the blogosphere. Tighten your seatbelts and keep your hands inside the vehicle as we provide you the opportunity to see, up close, real MBA candidates and students in their natural habitat! It’s best to whisper and, please, no flash photography…it makes them nervous.
Speaking of nerves, MBA Monk seemed to have a good smattering of the little guys as he over-researched taking the GMAT one day before his own exam (good luck Monk!). TienyChesney was in a surf of anxiety and contentment. When in the warm waves of contentment he declared that Soni “was the man” while in the anxiety ridden undertow he continued to be concerned with his CBS application. There was a fair amount of of inter-blogosphere appreciation this week. In addition to Soni’s new ‘the man’ status, Maxwinter happily announced that he took and passed the CFA Level 1 Exam and thanked HappyBunny for her encouragement. Meanwhile Chandara credited Tiny Dancer for linking to Starwalker whose post on Randy Pausch Chandara found incredibly uplifting. To complicate things further, Starwalker heard the sad news of Pausch’s passing from Mandy. Another example of MBA blog appreciation and collaboration could be found in the recently joined forces of ’10 Ross Gltnforpnshmt and ’09 Ross M@ at Rainerisms.
In other ’11 aspirant news, Samantha regretted starting her research last fall and declared her desire to simply drink diet lemonade and apply solely to Wharton, HappyBunny shared her imaginary admission process, and Soni declared Columbia “tizzite”.
Those about to embark on their first year of b-school are continuing to be quite busy preparing for this exciting transition. ’10 Darden JulyDream began to get settled into her new Charlottesville digs but quickly flew back to the west coast for a weekend in Vegas and a couple of days in San Franciso, before returning to her new home. Gets us tired just thinking about it. ’10 INSEAD Mark Zornes has about three weeks before he wings his way to INSEAD‘s Fontainbleau campus. ’10 Kellogg Miss Curly Bee finished her last day of work and was already offered an internship for next summer … she’ll think about it. TinyDancer, who has been settled in Philadelphia for a while now, discussed the relative merits of grade non-disclosure.
And, of course, there were the experienced and sage ’09ers. ’09 HBS AGirlsMBA offered the incoming class a big welcome and a lot of advice. ’09 Chicago MaybeMBA also provided her own thoughts on how best to spend the first year in b-school. And ’09 Darden Mandy wished her birthday buddy Arnold a happy day.
And that’s all the news that’s fit to print for week’s stint as your MBA blogosphere tour guide. Don’t hesitate to come back next week, where we’re sure that these b-school bloggers will keep it real, entertaining and interesting as always! Happy weekend!
