Fridays from the Frontline

Welcome back to another Fridays from the Frontline, our round up of new and noteworthy blog posts from around the web. This week we found some bloggers amping up their preparations for the future, others settling into new environs, and still more wrapping up their MBA experiences for good. Let’s see what they had to say…

Bloggers who are preparing to matriculate this fall have a busy summer ahead. Iday reported that he finally received his Visa, putting him one step closer to the Chicago GSB. TJ considered the progress he’s made on the goals he plans to accomplish before entering Kellogg, while MBA_Salsera debates how best to budget her time, money, and energy before beginning Georgetown’s program.

Aside from progress reports, several bloggers posted words of wisdom last week. Necromonger offered thoughts on the “learning by doing” approach to business education, and AsianGal shared some advice she received from local alumni about identifying her priorities while at Wharton. Even more concrete advice came from UniQpath on Wharton’s Essay 1, and from MaybeMBA on the CFA exam.

We also had some interesting posts this week from bloggers who have just finished their first year. La Laudiaria said she’s having a blast at Google, and MBA Gladiator was content as he settled into his summer digs in Washington DC. On the flip side, Rubeo Boy was a little wistful about spending the summer away from Stern and New York.

A number of bloggers are still thoroughly involved with school. DomoDomo reported on INSEAD’s lavish Summer Ball, and Zanat0s reminisced about the team-building Outward Bound experience that began his first year at INSEAD. Jacek was still moving at full speed at ESADE, but was looking forward to working on two different business plans over the summer.

With even bigger changes looming for Divine Miss N, she posted a nostalgic little time capsule of her typical day at LBS. Along the same lines, Kevin posted a series of informative class-by-class recaps of his entire MBA career at the University of Wisconsin. The Dirty Canuck’s post this week was somewhat less nostalgic, as she covered Champions League soccer, NCAA softball and a few choice TV shows before ever mentioning her upcoming graduation from Chicago. Jerry Blank’s post was more representative, though; on the eve of Yale’s graduation, his cohort pride was at a high.

That just about covers the MBA blogosphere this week! Thanks for checking in, and we’ll see you again next week for another Friday from the Frontline!
